The Mozilla Web Page Composer

In order to invoke the composer feature of Mozilla, perform the following:

In a UNIX shell, type the command
Mozilla &

The ampersand (&) at the end of the command forks Mozilla as a separate process, so you can continue to use the shell for further UNIX commands.

A Mozilla web browser pops up .
At the bottom left of the browser window are 5 icons; the 3rd from the left is the 'Composer' icon; click it to invoke a Mozilla web page Composer window.

The Mozilla web page Composer window looks similar to a word processing application.

There are icons for one-click creation, opening, and saving of files, as well as for adding links, images, and tables.

The row under the icons provide for formatting text on the page.

Also notice the pull-down menus at the top, and more importantly, the 4 tabs at the bottom of the window.

Before you save a page, it's important to add a title (The title appears in the banner of the browser where the window displays).

Use the Pages Titles & Properties option from the Format menu. If you don't, you'll be requested to provide a title when you first save your page.

Important!! Save your web page BEFORE you add any images or links!

If you don't, you're images and relative links will end up broken (More on relative and absolute links later).

Remember: Save early, Save often!

(You can also save by selecting the Save option from the File menu)
