Fazzolari A. Fiorenzo

Fiorenzo A. Fazzolari received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin in 2007 and 2010, respectively. During his undergraduate and postgraduate studies, he was principally involved in the fields of aerospace structures and aeroelasticity. His Bachelor’s thesis was about the deterministic and stochastic evaluation of failure parameters in laminated composites using hierarchical plate and shell models based on Carrera’s Unified Formulation (CUF). He joined the Computational Aeroelasticity and Structural Dynamics research group under the supervision of Prof. Luciano Demasi in the Spring of 2010 in partial fulfilment of his MSc dissertation work. His research project was about the develop of Spectral methodologies in static and dynamics analysis of multilayered structures. This work was a joint research project with the university Politecnico di Torino (Italy) (prof. E. Carrera). His Master of Science Thesis had the following title: “Spectral methods for static and dynamic analysis of multilayered plates”. Fiorenzo A. Fazzolari's research work has been published in some international Journals, the first work proposed was:

From January 2011, he joined the Structural Dynamics and Aeroelasticity Group at City University London as a researcher to work on the doctoral programme on “Dynamic Stiffness Modeling of Composite Plates and Plate Assemblies”.

Fiorenzo Fazzolari's Research Interests

His main research interests and activities take into account: dynamic stiffness formulation for structural elements, multifield problems for multilayered structures, mechanics of laminated composite plates and shells, finite element methods: linear and non-linear, applied and computational aeroelasticity, non-linear analysis of aerospace structures, spectral and pseudo-spectral methods, wave propagation, smart structures, classical and mixed equivalent single layer, zig-zag and layer-wise variable kinematics theories. His research is funded by the European Office of the US Air Force (EOARD).
