* no more than three
500 level courses or other relevant courses offered by other departments such
as AE and EM can be taken in total.
Total number of 3 unit courses needed to complete MS degree
is 10 (30 units).
It may also be possible to take one or two other 600 level courses
instead of the required ones, if your thesis advisor believes that they could
be more useful for your thesis. In this case consult with your thesis advisor,
and then when completing your program of study, also include a petition for
adjustment of academic requirements. So that the course you want to take can
substitute one of the required ones. Wait until this has been approved by
the Graduate division before registering.
Students following the project option need to arrange
(during their first semester) with an advisor that would agree to advise them
for ME 797. This course will however be taken at a later time during their MS
degree, but you must arrange with the advisor during your first semester.
Students following the thesis option need to find a
thesis advisor during their first semester.
