Dr. Sunil Kumar received B.E. (Electronics Engineering) degree from S.V. National Institute of Technology, Surat (India), in 1988 and the M.E. and Ph.D. (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) degrees from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (India) in 1993 and 1997, respectively. From 1997 to 2002, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher and Adjunct Faculty in Signal and Image Processing Institute and Electrical Engineering-Systems Department at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. From July 2000 to July 2002, he was also a Consultant in industry on JPEG2000 and MPEG4-based projects and participated in JPEG2000 standardization activities. From August 2002 to July 2006, he was an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY. Since August 2006, he has been an Associate Professor and Pine Faculty Fellow in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at San Diego State University, San Diego, CA. Dr. Kumar was an ASEE Summer Faculty Fellow at Air Force Research Lab, Rome, NY during summer of 2007, where he conducted research in Airborne wireless networks.
Dr. Kumar is the director of 'Multimedia and Wireless Networks Research' Group at SDSU. His research interests include (i) QoS-aware cross-layer MAC, Routing and Transport layer Protocols for Multimedia Traffic in Wireless WiMAX, Cellular, Ad hoc, Sensor and Cognitive Radio Networks, and (ii) Error Resilient Multimedia (Image, Video and 3D graphics) Compression techniques, including MPEG-4, H.264/AVC and JPEG2000. He has published more than 75 research articles in international journals and conferences, and two books/book chapters. His research has been funded by NSF, DOD, DOE, NYSERDA, CITeR, Cisco and Sprint Advanced Technology Labs.

Dr. Sarkar received a B.S. degree (Summa Cum Laude) in May, 2000 from San Diego State University, and a M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 2003 and 2005 respectively. She joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at San Diego State University as an Assistant Professor in August 2006. Prior to joining SDSU, Dr. Sarkar worked as a Staff Scientist at SPAWAR Systems Center, Point Loma, San Diego, CA.

Dr. Santosh Nagaraj received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in August 2005. He has since been with San Diego State University as an Assistant Professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His current research interests include (i) OFDM based physical layer design, (ii) Network coding and user cooperation based communication techniques for multiuser diversity, and (iii) Multirate variable spreading factor code division multiple access (CDMA).
